Northwood Deaconess Health Center (NDHC) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2025 scholarship awards, aimed at supporting students from local communities who are pursuing higher education in healthcare and other related fields.


NDHC’s scholarships are awarded to high school seniors from communities served by NDHC who are pursuing careers in healthcare, with a special emphasis on rural healthcare, as well as to children, grandchildren, or spouses of current NDHC employees who are graduating from high school or continuing their college education. Scholarships were awarded to:.

  • Alicia Foss, Hatton, ND Attending North Dakota State University; studying Nursing.

  • Tyler Hammer, McVille, ND Attending North Dakota State University; studying Nursing.

  • Christian Snyder, Northwood, ND Attending North Dakota State College of Science; studying General Diesel Technology.

  • Jace Larson, Northwood, ND Attending Northland Technical College; studying HVAC/Plumbing/Business.

  • Mallory Kvilvang, Northwood, ND Attending University of North Dakota; pursuing Master of Science in Nursing.


Addison Uglem, Northwood, received the HOSA Achievement Award scholarship, which honors an outstanding senior from Northwood Public School’s HOSA Club. HOSA encourages leadership development, career exploration, and skills-building for students interested in healthcare careers. Uglem was one of the first members of the local chapter, which has grown to more than 20 members since it started nearly 5 years ago.

 

NDHC is proud to invest in the future of healthcare and in the families of its dedicated team members and support the local HOSA program that help students connect with health careers and develop critical leadership skills,” says CEO Brock Sherva.

 

Since launching its scholarship program four years ago, NDHC has awarded more than $10,000 to support area students pursuing health careers.
