Pediatric Physical Therapist

We have an immediate opening for a full-time PHYSICAL THERAPIST SPECIALIZING IN PEDIATRIC CARE to join our growing full-service rehab department, carrying out individualized programs to evaluate, treat and discharge patients. You will

  • Provide direct patient care, evaluate functional needs and outcomes, and consult with other specialists

  • Document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans

  • Review patients’ functional needs and adjusts care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Design and implement a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of potential development

  • Conduct therapy practice within defined standards of care

  • Direct the assistance of support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals

  • Communicate effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes

  • Practice NDHC and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards

  • Enhance professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops including continuing education requirements as instructed in the Physical Therapy Practice Act

  • Keep up-to-date on professional literature

  • Provide direction and leadership to staff and acts as a resource to promote physical therapy in the community

  • Oversee physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students during clinical training at NDHC

 

Requirements: Master’s degree with current ND and MN physical therapy license.

 

Speech Language Pathologist

We are hiring a self-motivated Speech Language Pathologist skilled in a medical setting to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing needs. No day will be the same. Your patients will include pediatric outpatients, long-term care residents, and hospital patients. You will:

  • Administer and write evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with NDHC standards and procedures.

  • Maintain timely and accurate patient records and reports

  • Design and administer treatment programs to increase patients’ levels of functioning

  • Lead in-services regarding therapy-related matters to NDHC staff and in the community

  • Instruct patients and families to carry out exercises at home when appropriate

  • Provide direct patient care, evaluate functional needs and outcomes, and consult with other specialists

  • Review patients’ needs and adjust care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Communicate effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes

  • Direct assistants and support staff, delegating tasks when appropriate or necessary

  • Practice NDHC and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards

  • Enhance professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops including continuing education requirements

  • Keep up-to-date on professional literature

  • Provide direction and leadership to staff and acts as a resource to promote speech therapy in the community

  • Oversee students during clinical speech language pathology training at NDHC

 

Requirements: Master’s degree in speech language pathology and current ND licensure ; CCC-ASHA certification

Preferred: 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.

 

Certified Nursing Assistant

Now hiring full - and part - time Certified Nursing Assistants for variety of shifts primarily in our long-term care unit.  Earn between $18 - $24/hr (depending on experience).plus signing bonus up to $10,000 and opportunity for shift bonuses. 

You will provide care and companionship to residents and daily living assistance under the direction of nursing staff. You will provide assistance with basic needs including, but not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs. 

Must be at least 16 years old and have current CNA certification from state of North Dakota.

 
 

RN/LPN

We are hiring PRN nurses to fill open shifts in our long-term care and/or acute care hospital. Must have a current unencumbered North Dakota license.

 

Activity Assistant

Garden, bake, paint, party, laugh. These are just a few things you'll be doing when you join Northwood Deaconess Health Center as an ACTIVITY ASSISTANT. We are hiring one full-time and one part-time assistant to provide social support and compassionate care to long-term residents.

  • Plan, prepare, and lead resident activities that may include gardening, arts and crafts, cooking, or games

  • Maintain activities records and progress notes; keep attendance records

  • Attend resident care plan meetings

  • Oversee swing bed activity visits and activities for patients

  • Assign staff to do personal visits with residents unable to attend group activities; maintain records and documentation of personal visits made

  • Recruit volunteers for activities and steward volunteers

  • Assist in keeping the department clean and organized

  • Create posters, banners and other signage to celebrate holidays, celebrations, and special events

  • Collaborate with coworkers in a team environment

 

The ideal candidates will be certified nursing assistants who are self-motivated, attentive to detail, and enjoy planning and implementing a wide variety of activities for residents.  Applicants who are willing to become certified nursing assistants are also encouraged to apply.
