Summer Sports Enhancement Program

The Sports Enhancement Program is designed to improve athletic performance.

Key training elements will include

  • Strength

  • Agility

  • Movement Patterns

  • Speed

Many of our athletes in the rural community participate in several sports. Our program provides training that develops skills used across different sports. The program will be separated into male and female only classes to meet the different needs and sports of the athletes. The Sports Enhancement Program is an eight week program, 3 times a week for 1 hour.

Specialized equipment will be used to determine strength, power, agility, and speed improvements. A comprehensive evaluation will be completed to determine the athlete's training needs.

A dynamic/movement based warm up will be completed before each session including specific exercises tailored to each athlete for their specific weaknesses or limitations.

Specialized drills designed to develop explosive ability, speed, and power; also acceleration, lateral speed and change in direction skills.

Strength is a critical training need for every athlete. The ability to jump higher, throw farther, run faster, are all directly related to improvements in strength. Strength also plays a key role in injury prevention by increasing joint stability and developing tensile strength in the ligaments and tendons.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) will be used for conditioning to ready athletes for sport.
