Mission and Vision Statements
Serve as local access to a full range of health care services;
Continue as a leader in primary care for the whole family,
in care of the elderly and in emergency services;
Function as a focal point for community health education and wellness.
NDHC provides this in a Christian environment respecting the dignity of all.
We envision NDHC as a leading source for primary health services in our region, and as a Christian organization, ready to adapt to changes necessary to fulfill the health care needs of the communities we serve.
Northwood Deaconess Health Center (NDHC) is a not-for-profit health care complex, which was founded in 1902 as a hospital. The facility currently consists of a 12-bed hospital, a 46 bed nursing home, a 10 bed Alzheimer unit, 5 Basic Care beds and 10 independent living apartments, and 6 assisted living apartments. Its services include emergency care, acute care, long term care, respite care, adult day care and rehabilitation. Located in the southwest corner of Grand Forks County, NDHC serves approximately 10,000 people in its service area. It employs a staff of around 180 employees. In 2002, NDHC celebrated 100 years of experience in providing healthcare. An association of 9 area Lutheran congregations owns the corporation and annually elects members to serve on its Board of Directors.
